I have read Rousseau. Dr. D’s comments are correct. But Rousseau was interested in FREEDOM. Dr. D. Is correct when he says that if we could understand, then we could predict. People, and the larger society, do not take their own, or anyone else’s freedom seriously. The essence of any scientic theory is its ability to predict what will happen next. Rousseau said that it was in his consciousness of willing or choosing that man was different from other advice animals. If this is true, the we are free. If not, then we are not free.
