There is a
new blog devoted specifically to Ferndale.
Interestingly enough, however, we have no clue who is running this show. When you try to view the profile, this is what you get:

About Me
The mission of Change Ferndale is to enact positive change and improve the city of Ferndale, WA We will do so by 1) Improving communications between residents and city officials 2) Improving communication between residents and the School District 3) Offer an open forum for discussion of the issues facing the city of Ferndale 4) Endorse policy that the organization approves of, and React to policy that offends the organization and its participants
Okay. Ummm, well, that's pretty vague, and while I agree that the goals are good ones, I'd like to know who this "we" is, and how this "we" is going to pull it all off.
They want to
improve communication between the City and the Residents. Okay. How? Who?
They want to
improve communication between the School District and the Residents. Okay. Another fine goal. But again, how? Who?
Offer an open forum for discussion of issues... Are you kidding me? Who? Who is offering this OPEN forum? How does one have a forum with invisible folks? Where is the "back and forth?" When and where does this forum happen?
Endorse policy that "the organization" approves of and react to policy that offends the organization and its participants. I'm sorry, and I mean no disrespect here, but I laughed out loud when I read that. Who is this "organization" and who are the "offended participants?" And why do I give a rip what some unnamed organization is offended by or about?
When you start something like this, you want to have your ducks in a row and come out of the gates with your nostrils flaring and at a full sprint. This upstart is limping in the first 100 yards.
I hope things improve for "Change Ferndale" because conceptually, there is great potential value here, but I think there are some policy decisions that need to be reconsidered.
