This show is going to die. Joe Teehan is going to kill it. KGMI seems to be really headed for trouble.
Today's topic was just sickening; a day of silence (by teachers) to raise awareness of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered students. I'm not paying my hard earned tax dollars for teachers to sit in silence all day long just to make high school students aware that there are homosexual desires on the part of some other students. This whole thing just pisses me off! Pastor Ken Hutcherson is calling for 1,000 prayer warriors to protest against this outrage. Good for him.

I don't mind Joe at all. I don't always agree with him, but I think he states his opinions in a non-abrasive manner. Joe isn't the problem at KGMI, severl others are culpable.
Back to the point of today's show, I think everyone missed the mark. Regardless of the "awareness" they are trying to raise, I think the school system's test should be if they have to permit absences for those that don't want to participate, it probably doesn't belong in public schools. I personally don't agree with the day of silence during a school day OR the protest because they are both putting forth their own agenda in an improper forum. The agenda needs to simply be educating our children in reading, writing (including proper grammer), math, history, United States government and how it works, basic business skills and life skills. But, hey, what do I know? When I graduated high school I was qualified to work in just about any business at the entry level (or better), balance a check book, manage money, calculate payroll, cook, sew, had basic automotive knowledge and knew how to do laundry! All of it learned in the public school system. How many of our high school graduates today can make that claim? As someone that has interviewed many for entry level positions...very few are prepared with even the most basic skills.
We need to get back to what is important.

I work for a landscaping contractor. I will be protesting the lack of rights for quadrapilegics on Monday by not using my arms or my legs at work all day. I'm sure my employer will have no problem with that, as he will certainly acknowledge my right of protest and free speech.

I gave up on KGMI years ago. When the Paranoia King retired (Art Bell) (Man that stuff was wierd...) The only time that I listen anymore is when they have local sports being broadcast because of the volume of local games and KPUG can only play one at a time. Same with KBAI. I'm glad Cascade Radio Group plays the Local Sports on all their AM Stations. Most of the time I may sound like I'm a political junkie, but I'd much rather listen to sports, sports talk etc. than Brett, Joe or even any of the national political announcers. ( although I did used to listen to G. Gordon Liddy when they stuck him on my sports station (go figure) and I used to pick up Ted Nugent's Spirit of the wild when conditions were right out of some 50000KW station out of the midwest.
