The Alabama Hill Association will hold its 2nd Quarterly Meeting of 2008 this coming Tuesday, May 6th at Sunrise Condominium CLUBHOUSE, south of Alabama Street on Birch (follow the signs). The meeting starts at 7 PM and will feature:
. A Report from the AHA Neighborhood Planning Committee
. An update on the Klipshan Trail crimes - BPD Neighborhood Sergeant . A Report from the AHA Parks Committee
. Mayor's Neighborhood Advisory Commission (MNAC) Report . WDOT Updates - Cornwall, 1-5, etc.

All residents and property owners of the Alabama Hill neighborhood are welcome,
and refresh-ments will be provided. Anyone wanting to get some time on the meeting agenda should contact the AHA Chairman - Doug Bestle at 734-2272 or dbestle@clearwire.net

The Neighborhood Plan is Taking Shape
We have canvassed the neighbors, using questionnaires, held a public meeting and studied all the input.
We are now putting it all together for a presentation at the summer picnic.

Here are some of the highlights:

Views: Height restrictions are in place for Alabama Hill residences. Height restrictions for residential trees
should be considered. As more techniques and applications for use of sustainable alternates for gas and
electricity become available it will be imperative to restrict property vegetation to block no more than 15% of
a neighbor’s sun access. This will also open up views.

Parking: Commercial vehicles over 10 10 15,000 GVW should be prohibited overnight except as needed for permitted work on the property.

Road Improvements: Small segments, (a block or less) can be built into the grid system to create alternative
connections to Alabama, and/or eliminate dead end streets. An example is the Huron/Erie street area.
We have lots more, housing, parks, improvements, etc. If any of these items peak your curiosity join us for
a meeting. We meet every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month, currently luncheon meetings, but we are
flexible. You can reach me for additional info at rhawth@qwest.net
